About Sara
I'm genuinely passionate about science and education, and there's nothing I enjoy more than watching a student realise what they're actually capable of. My hope is always to leave students not just exam-ready, but a little more curious about pursuing science further.
I tutor students across all academic levels, from those needing extra support to reach a pass, to strong students aiming for the top grades. Alongside GCSE tutoring, I've organised and led teaching and revision sessions for medical students and fellow doctors, which has sharpened my ability to break complex ideas down into something genuinely understandable, whatever the starting point.

I'm a surgical doctor based in London with over 8 years' experience tutoring GCSE Biology and Chemistry, across all exam boards including International GCSEs.
My approach centres on going over the core theory first, then testing that understanding continuously with exam-style questions and past papers. I focus on applying knowledge rather than rote memorising facts, because that's what actually separates a good grade from a great one at GCSE. I also spend time on the precise definitions of key scientific terms and on unpicking exactly what an examiner is asking for in a question, so students aren't just learning content but learning how to answer. Lessons typically run for an hour, and I tailor the pace and level of each one to the individual student.
Alongside my medical degree, I hold a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Royal Holloway and a master's degree in Cancer Biology from University College London, and spent 3 years working as a research scientist in microbiology and cancer research.
