I taught English for 28 years and writing to all five hundred students in preparation for writing tests for four modes. I taught Honors English at Seacoast for six months. Taught grammar 28 years.

About Fran
I have taught seventh through twelfth grades. I did not do well in high school and thought I couldn't do English for sure. Truth is I didn't try. When I got a paper back with red all over I had no idea what I did wrong. I made it a point to call the students to my desk and explained why it was marked. He/she would then rewrite it until it was an A-paper. Each time revising and coming up with ideas on their own to make it great. I also told them how great they were. In college I was in the top ten percent of grades. After thinking I would never make it!

I love teaching and working with students. As my principal said, "Fran, you are not teaching English-you are teaching students."If a child has good self-esteem, any student can make A's. Each student has something special to feel good about if it is pointed out to him/her. They are special in some way." I enjoy teaching grammar since I had so much trouble in high school. I don't fail students that will listen and try their best. I have never found one that does not want to succeed. Positive teaching is what I do. I respect everyone.
