About Lloyd
I am a second degree blackbelt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and I have been studying and training BJJ for over 23 years. I have medalled in several competitions including winning a Bronze medal at the IBJJF European Championships in Lisbon. I have also trained in several other martial arts namely, Karate, Japanese Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Boxing and Muay Thai.

As an older athlete I am well aware of the body's limitations and understand the need to adjust expectations, mindset and training methodology in order to stay safe and limit the potential for injury while training. I have a friendly, patient approach to teaching and I am able to adjust techniques or offer working alternatives to suit specific body types.
I have been recently teaching a small group of over 50's the fundamentals of BJJ and was able to adapt the course to meet the specific needs for that age group.
For younger athletes, private lessons can be useful for you to get a grip of the basics and may allay some of your concerns before stepping onto the mat of a group class, and for the more advanced students, working on specific areas of your game on a 1-2-1 basis can prove invaluable.
Lessons are usually an hour long.
