About Derek
I've written 30 page essays for my degrees in Psychology and Biology, and I've written tons of creative stories for fun! I've had countless papers painfully scrutinized in college, but it made me into a solid writer and reader. English can be fun! Currently I work as a Chemist, so I mostly read scientific journals and lately Greek Mythology these days. This is the perfect way for me to let out my creative energy.

I approach each topic by asking students how I can help them, and I go from there. For example, if a student is having trouble with grammar, I might post some helpful links and walk the student through some practice examples until we both feel confident that the student can complete his or her assignments. If the student is struggling with creative writing, I might help them to brainstorm ideas and show them how to use their rubric as a helpful guide.
I think learning is fun, and I love to help students overcome hurdles. I've personally spent many nights hunched over homework feeling frustrated, so understand and I'm here to help!
