I use a variety of teaching methods which involves both the teacher and student centred approach. My role is to involve and engage learners within the classroom environment.I am keen to maintain a topical interest in the subject matter by encouraging studets to discuss relevant issues and to relate the topics to the students experiences.
I hold a degree in the Behavioural Sciences, which is a joint degree in Psychology and Sociology plus a PGCE Teaching qualification. I have taught these subjects for over 15 years at GCSE, A Level, BTEC and on the Access to HE courses. I have taught students in the classroom with 15+ students and individually. I have enthusiasm, interest and knowledge in the subject. I enjoy discussing issues with students in conjunction with preparing them for examinations
I enjoy a teaching environment to gain rich and fulfilling experiences and broaden my professional development. The rewards and challenges of teaching offer a sense of satisfaction that is enhanced by the knowledge that I have been able to help and support the students I have taught. I believe a continued supportive environment and the use of positive reinforcement strategies has a huge impact of the learning and development of the students. I pride myself in my flexibility and enthusiasm to learn and grow as a teacher.
