I have over twenty years 'alternative' teaching experience, educating my children from nursery to university level. Over this time I have been able to demonstrate strong organisational skills, gained experience in teaching children with special educational needs, and have obtained a thorough grounding in the key stages of the National Curriculum leading ultimately to exam preparation.
The most significant thing I've learned over this period is, however, the importance of an education that is tailored to individual need and learning style, something only truly achievable through one-to-one tuition.
Education is about the lighting of a fire, but sometimes and for whatever reason, the fire goes out - something not easy to spot in a class of thirty. I see it as my job to rekindle that fire by offering tailor-made individual tuition.
Over twenty years 'alternative' teaching experience. Experience of teaching special needs children, specialising in gifted children and dyslexia. I have been a private tutor for just over a year. When not tutoring, I work as a freelance writer and am a published author.
Profile: I am a confident, responsible and motivated writer and educator, looking to utilise the knowledge and experience I have gained by becoming a qualified teacher.
