About Stephen
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have played the piano since the age of 7, guitar since age 11, and have enjoyed 16 years experience performing in a variety of ensembles and settings as pianist, guitarist, and singer: from such venues as the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall and the Barbican, to popular music gigs, weddings and hotels.

- Tell me about some of your current students.
My current students are mostly piano, two learning guitar, and one GCSE music theory. Most are beginners, with piano students working towards ABRSM exams, and music theory students working towards the GCSE music qualification.

No pupil is ever the same; you dictate the pace of learning, and I will work around you to accommodate you with my friendly and easy-going approach. As an experienced and accomplished musician i not only teach good technique, theory, and practise, but can also relate to you the wealth and variety of my performing experience as you progress, giving an insight into the joys and thrills associated with perfomance, as well as the common hinderences and technical problems encountered along the way. I look forward to meeting you!

I teach Piano, mostly Trinity Rock & Pop, Rock/Pop Guitar and GCSE Music theory.

- How much do you charge?
£40 per hour.
- Where do you teach?
I teach online (Skype), but can travel out to students in the Guildford area.
- When are you available?
Please contact me for availability; typically Mon - Fri afternoons.
Very occasionally I might have to cancel a lesson every now and then in order to accommodate my other commitments, but I will always endeavour to rearrange to another time during the week. I welcome the same courtesy from students, in that when the necessity arises to have to cancel a lesson, they make the effort to reschedule to another time. I must be given notification of cancellation at least 24 hours in advance. Repeated cancellations without rearranging another lesson in the week will incur an extra charge on the resuming lesson.

I teach from the age of 8, from beginners to advanced ability.
