About Ke
I will be a college student in september. It's likely that I have undiagnosed dyscalculia myself, I was forced to figure out my own methods to keep up to my peers. Recently, I have been trying different methods that I used to use with a junior school student with dyscalculia, in attempt to close the gap between her and her similar age sister. So far, she is now confident with a lot of the basics!

I believe it's important to first know the student as a person so I would first do an activity of their choice that they enjoy; this also gives me an oppotunity to see their strengths.
Rewards are also important, they encourage focus through a lesson and make it worth their time.
Since dyscalculia requires visual learning, paper is important. I would first write out a few questions and show them a method to answer them, I would then write a similar question and see if they can answer them; if the method isn't helpful, I would then try a different technique.
I believe every student is equally capable, if they use the techniques most suited to them and it is the teacher who must figure out which this is.
