About Laurence
I got into tutoring through helping a friend out through their GCSEs but eventually took on more teaching roles as I came to enjoy the progress that students and tutees make after I have helped them. I'm hoping to make a recognisable difference in students' grades and abilities
I think the best lessons happen when a student stops feeling embarrassed about what they don't understand, so I try to make sessions relaxed and pressure free rather than intimidating. I'm patient and I actually enjoy the process of figuring out how someone else's brain works best. If you're looking for someone reliable and genuinely invested in your progress rather than just going through the motions, I'd like to be considered to be your tutor.

Sessions typically run an hour, and I like to work at the pupil's pace to ensure that nothing is only skimmed over and that topics are broken down to the level necessary for the student.
I've had 2 years experience of tutoring and teaching, involving 1-on-1s and classroom settings. I've dealt with various age groups from 8-16 and I've learnt to tailor each session to how the student learns best: building confidence through worked examples, past-paper practice, and bespoke notes where they help most.
