About Timothy Ross
Throughout my time as a Teaching Assistant, I’ve worked with all age-groups, from Nursery to Year 6. As well as general classroom assistance, I’ve worked with individuals - 1:1, I’ve supervised whole classes by myself, I’ve accompanied children on residential trips, and I’ve led my own clubs after school. Alongside my work in education, I’ve also coached an U8 football team for the past 4 years. Over the past year, I’ve held tutoring sessions with a range of children from Year 1 to Year 7.
As a foundation, it’s important to establish a general goal with parents and pupils which can then be broken down into manageable micro-goals - easily attainable and working towards the established ideal. We’ll have a chat about which skills we want to develop before taking a casual, initial assessment that just allows us to set our starting point. We’ll improve, session-by-session, with incremental steps. Over time, with positivity and encouragement, we’ll see the development and celebrate progress!
