About Rebecca
My goal as your reading tutor is to get you not only to read books for school, but to get you to love reading as a whole and in general to give you the keys to unlock the knowledge that you are about to receive by learning how to read properly.

My teaching methods involve asking the students questions to see where they are at in their reading abilities. From that analysis, I can then create a curriculum based on the strengths and weaknesses of the student. My typical lesson will include learning the full alphabet (vowels and consonants), phonics, spelling of sight words, and sentence structure. What sets me apart as a tutor is my skills of being an active, hands-on parent of two adult children, ages 21 and 18, teaching them the exact same way that my students on my bus route and district. My 21-year-old daughter, who has Autism, is in a transition work program at her high school to assist her in learning independence and employment after graduation, and has a G.P.A. of 3.5. My son goes to college/trade school studying HVAC (heating and cooling) and is a part-time Honor Roll Student, while also attending high school as an AP High Honor student, and has a G.P.A. of 4.7. My children are living proof that my teaching methods really do work
