About Linyi
I'm a Nottingham-based tennis enthusiast with 4 years of regular play. I currently represent my club in the Notts LTA Short Format League 2026 — Men's Division 4, so I'm comfortable rallying at intermediate to upper-intermediate level and can keep a consistent pace for extended sessions.
What I offer
My main service is hitting practice and rally partner sessions — perfect for players who want to maintain rhythm, improve consistency, or prepare for matches. While I'm not an LTA-certified coach, I'm happy to share basic technique feedback and footwork tips on request, especially around groundstrokes, serve mechanics, and shot placement.
I can also run light drills (cross-court rallies, baseline-to-volley patterns, target practice) for players who want more structured sessions.
Logistics
Court: I can book an outdoor court at Nottingham Tennis Centre for our session, or come to your preferred venue in Nottingham
Transport: If you live in central Nottingham and don't have a car, I can offer a pickup within reasonable distance
Equipment: I have two rackets — a Wilson Pro Staff 97 v14 (for control/feel) and a Wilson Clash v3 (for power/comfort) — that you're welcome to try. I also bring tennis balls to every session

My approach
My sessions are built around hitting practice with a purpose. Rather than running formal coaching drills, I focus on giving you a consistent, match-realistic rally partner who can adapt to your pace. We'll typically warm up with mini-tennis, move into baseline rallies, then work on whatever you want to focus on that day — cross-court consistency, approach shots, serve-return patterns, or just match play.
Session structure
A typical session is 60 or 90 minutes. For 60 minutes, expect ~10 min warm-up, ~35 min focused rallying or light drills, and ~15 min match-style points. For 90 minutes we add more drill variety and a longer match-play section. I'll always check what you want to work on before we start.
Technique feedback on request
I'm not a certified coach, but I've spent four years actively working on my own game and I'm comfortable sharing observations on grip, footwork, swing path, and serve mechanics when asked. If you're looking for formal stroke correction or accredited coaching for exams, I'd recommend an LTA-qualified coach — but for everyone who just wants to play more and play better, I can genuinely help.
