About Eddy
I love tennis and started off my coaching journey by demonstrating how to hit a one-handed backhand to my buddy. I have since found it very rewarding to help my friends improve and see them grow to also love the sport of tennis. I am now training to become a qualified coach and am keen to coach new students in parallel to training and studying for this qualification. I am also a qualified University Activator and a qualified LTA Competition Organiser.
I enjoy discussing how professional players play to their strengths and adopt various techniques, which is a great way to understand play styles and reflect on your own!
Having returned from work in London to pursue a Master's degree, I now train at the University of Bath and can drive to nearby areas to give lessons.

Using techniques encouraged by the LTA as well as those from personal research, my tailored coaching lessons follow the approximate structure:
- Warm-up games and discussion around current tennis form and lesson objectives
- Focussed drills and exercises that practice and habituate the subject technique e.g. cross-court backhand, mid-court ball finish, slice approach, 1-2-punch. This is primarily done with hand / racket / rally feed, depending on the level.
- Extended match scenario drills to practice the the technique under game-like circumstances. This incorporates a scoring system and can become a more fluid match-play practise depending on skill-level / preferences.
- Warm-down games whilst discussing key learnings / feedback
- Recommended videos and strength exercises to do until the next session.
Whilst I enjoy teaching lessons in this format, I am also happy to simply serve as a hitting partner as well!
Typical lesson length: 1-2hours
Level: School level upwards for players ranked up to 7.1 at any age group.

Eddy is a dynamic and fun teacher! After meticulously completing his training, he has manage to create an atmosphere in his lessons where he passes on his techniques and insight in a very pedagogical way. Would definitely recommend!
I've had many lessons with Eddy and he has taken me from full beginner level to now being very comfortable with my tennis game.
Great coachEddy taught me German for 2 years. He was really good at teaching grammar and vocabulary. I really appreciated that he took complex grammar and made it easier to understand. I had very little knowledge of Germanic languages having only learned French and Spanish in the past. He tested me on vocabulary on a regular basis and gave me real-time feedback when I made a mistake so that I had continuous improvement.
Overall, I couldn't recommend him highly enough.Great tutor. Brilliant communicator, friendly and knowledgeable. Provided clear structure / plan for the lessons while also offering me the flexibility to explore what I found most engaging. Definitely recommend!
Eddy was recommended to me by a colleague and has been giving me basic level German lessons for the last 18 months. He is professional, always on time, and extremely patient.
