About Debra
Actually, guitar playing sits at the intersection of rigorous technique and raw intuition, which is why I incorporate music theory into every session. After 7 years of teaching, I have had the pleasure of guiding 270 students through everything from electric technique and fingerpicking to complex improvisation.
I hold a BFA Music from York University, which helps me explain the mechanics of blues progressions in a way that makes sense. It is a wide field to explore.
I enjoy seeing players develop their own sound through consistent practice. My goal is to keep our sessions grounded in the reality of your instrument. You deserve a clear path forward. Please reach out if you want to explore the fretboard with a structured yet approachable partner.

You arrive at your first session ready to play, and we immediately start by assessing your current technical foundation on the electric guitar. Because I rely on my 7 years of teaching experience and my BFA Music background, we move quickly through the essentials of fingerpicking and soloing. We maintain a steady pace to ensure you understand the theory behind every chord shape we explore.
8.0 is my metric for the focus and effort I expect during our time together. I provide the structure you need to become a proficient guitarist.
