About Borna
Hello! My name is Borna and I am a classical guitarist based in Manchester, UK. I have graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music under the tutelage of the internationally renowned guitarist Craig Ogden and became a fully qualified music teacher after completing a postgraduate music teacher-training course at the Manchester Metropolitan University and the Royal Northern College of Music. I have been teaching private guitar/music theory lessons since 2014 and my students regularly took ABRSM, Trinity and Rock school exams. During my PGCE year at the Manchester Metropolitan University, I have gained experience in teaching in both classroom and music service settings. My music service placement included teaching guitar/ukulele/bass to students of all levels and I have taught in both one-on-one and larger group settings. I have also taught Key Stage 3 and GSCE in a classroom setting at the Whalley Range High School and Stretford Grammar school where I developed skills in managing classroom behaviour and further expanded my subject knowledge in teaching the National music curriculum and other instruments such as piano and percussion. In October of 2018, I was offered a position to teach guitar and ukulele at the Victoria Road and St Mary's C.E Primary School in Runcorn, UK. This work enabled me to work with children from the age of 4 to 12 and I gained experience in teaching Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 music curriculum. In the summer of 2017, I had the opportunity of being a guitar tutor at the Appel Farm Art Camp in New Jersey, USA. I was given the chance to work with many talented and passionate young musicians, teaching a wide range of music genres from Classical music to Rock/Pop and gaining experience in teaching students of all levels.

I like to offer students lessons with a fun and unique learning programme and I teach all levels from beginner to advanced. I am happy to teach students of all ages and am willing to adjust the format of the lessons in order to suit the student's specific needs. I am familiar with the ABRSM and Trinity exams and I am happy to prepare students for these exams if that is what they would prefer.

Perfect! Looking forward to ongoing tutoring
Perfect! Borna has excelent skills and gives super easy to follow lessons. My nearly 5-year old son managed to stay focused throught his first lesson, which is a great success!

Borna is an outstanding guitar teacher and musician with a broad knowledge of styles, techniques and theory. Endless patience, friendly approach and enthusiasm makes Borna a serious music teacher who breaks down lessons, concepts and songs into small pieces allowing the student sufficient time to tackle a piece at a time.
