I give lessons to A Level students looking to practise their speaking and written comprehension, and GCSE students looking to practise any skills. My techniques include questions and answers, sample texts, reading aloud, answering questions based on a text and giving a summary.
I am currently studying German, Italian and Translation at the University of Birmingham, and am on my year abroad teaching English in Italy. I have been studying German for 10 years and Italian for 3 years, and in February I will move to Austria to teach! I have had tutoring myself so understand the importance of it and have taught all age groups, both in big groups and individually.
There is a 6 hour cancellation policy on all lessons.
A highly motivated and hardworking individual, who has completed A levels, achieving A*AB. 2016 – Present Being employed by the University of Birmingham as a Student Ambassador has enabled me to improve my skills at dealing with people older and younger than myself, whose first language is not necessarily English.
Summer of 2017 Working as a housekeeper at Regency Villas has enabled me to improve my time management skills and hone my ability to work efficiently and independently.
2015 – Present Working at a coffee shop in my home city has enabled me to practise my German and Italian language skills, improve my customer service skills and has given me valuable experience in dealing with difficult customers whilst working as part of a team.
May 2015-2016 Volunteering in a Cancer Research UK store at weekends, providing me with retail experience, customer service and a direct link with the public, as well as practising German with customers who speak little English. Working with a team of people who have learning difficulties has taught me patience, and the value of being able to explain something in a variety of ways. This also enabled me to become competent with the use of an EPOS till.
