Third Year University student offering Maths, English, Politics and History lessons in North London

Methodology

I am a fun and approachable tutor who aims to build a good relationship with the tutee to get the most out of them. I tailor each of my lesson styles to individual children to help them get the most out of the session. I use a range of resources including games, challenges, videos and more typical tutoring resources.

Experience

I am a third year History and Politics student at Queen Mary University of London. I have worked for a number of tutoring companies and for the past year have been setting up my own private tutoring network. The majority of my tutoring has been focused on primary school-aged children and I have worked across all primary school subjects.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Private Tutoring (January 2020-now)
Responsibilities : I have been tutoring a number of children from Reception to Year 3 age. This has been in almost all areas, with a special focus for some on maths, English or phonics. I have tutored both online and in person.

Explore Learning (September 2018 – February 2020) at Explore Learning Barnet – (concealed information) - 66 E Barnet Rd, East Barnet, New Barnet, London, Barnet EN4 8RQ

I have also taught more specialised workshops in Maths, English and Phonics, as well as regularly in Creative Writing. I have also hosted assemblies to whole secondary school year groups or junior or infant groups in primary schools and I have run whole class workshops in a range of different primary school. Additionally, I have taken part in a host of marking and promotional events as well as completing Ofsted qualifications up to managerial level.

Relief Support Worker (April 2019-Now) No.10 Advice and Enquiries Centre –
(concealed information) – 10 Princes Street, London W1B 2LH
Responsibilities : I was involved with cooking and serving meals, finding accomodation and employment for clients as well as dealing with HMRC and similar services on behalf of clients. I also took on a lot of the advertising roles within the centre as well as liasing with the local church and local companies to arrange donations.

Receptionist (June 2017-August 2017) at Travelodge Farringdon - (concealed information) - 10-42 King's Cross Rd, London WC1X 9QE
Responsibilities: Throughout my internship at Travelodge, I completed a range of tasks including checking people in and out, sorting and filing faxes, helping people with any problems that occurred, restocking resources, serving breakfast and more.

Student Assistant (June 2013-July 2018) at Absolute Dance – (concealed information) - 9 Queen Anne's Pl, Enfield EN1 2PX
Responsibilities: I worked on a Monday evening and all day on Saturday, assisting the dance teachers in classes of up to 28, collecting fees, collating uniform orders and fitting and selling uniform.

Internship (6th-17th June 2015) at Armstrong solicitors – (concealed information) – 43 Eurolink Business centre, 49 Effra Road, London SW2 1BZ

Responsibilities: I have recently begun volunteering at this homelessness service, helping out during meal services on a Wednesday and a Friday. Having known Eloise for a number of years now, I can safely say she is a great tutor. She puts so much hard work in to her lessons, to ensure they are effective as well as enjoyable. Would highly recommend!

I know Elaine through church but she has volunteered and been a relief worker at the service I manage for people experiencing homelessness in Central London.

I have observed Eloise working with vulnerable people in the centre I manage. She uses a person centered approach and adapts to the persons need of support.

She is proactive in her engagement with them and encourages the person to reach their potential.

She can manage her own work load but knows when to ask advice and help from her manager.

She is friendly but understands safeguarding issues and professional boundaries.

Eloise is an amazing tutor. She is excellent with children and is very smart and good at communicating with children of all ages. She always goes the extra mile to ensure all children fully understand and completely grasp the material that she is helping them with. I fully recommend Eloise to anyone who is looking for someone to help their child, as there will not be many better than her.

I have worked with Eloise before and have been lucky enough to watch her tutoring and learn from her. She teaches in a very fun, engaging and professional style, and achieves great results from her students!
