About Divija
I am a graduate of BA (Hons) Dance from Bath Spa University, UK. I have trained in Bharatnatyam for 22 years in India. I am interested in experimenting with combining the movement languages of contemporary and Bharatnatyam. I have created a work 'Mirage' that is based on this premise and performed it at The Mission Theatre, SparkFest and Fringe Arts Bath.

My lessons will focus on the basic details and nuances of Bharatnatyam. We will learn the footwork, hand gestures and facial elements of the form. As the lessons progress, I will introduce a creative aspect into the classes, to allow the students to find their own expression and creativity through dance.
