My teaching method is learner-centred. I do my best to adapt my lessons to the individual needs of each learner. This includes reviewing class content and modelling exam responses. Each lesson includes a lesson objective agreed between myself and the student. I assess the progress of each student regularly throughout each lesson with both verbal and written questioning. I also set short homework tasks at the end of each session to ensure help students consolidate their learning.
I am a trainee teacher with a postgraduate degree in the history of warfare from the university of Birmingham. I have experience teaching students in an outstanding secondary Academy, supporting students of varied backgrounds and abilities to reach their full academic potential. I have experience working with students with complex learning needs including dyslexia, ADHD and autism. In addition to my classroom experience, I have eight years experience in private tuition whereby I have supported several students through GCSEs, A levels and entry examinations.
