About Esme
I am an undergraduate Languages and Cultures student at the University of Sheffield, currently completing my final year. Currently based in Sheffield, possessing an advanced language level in French and Spanish (both B2), fluency in English, and a basic level in Portuguese. During 2025/2026 on my year abroad, I gained international experience working as a language teacher in France for six months, and studying for another six months in Portugal.

I am dedicated to making language-learning a fun and positive experience, therefore using a combined approach of exam practice questions with games to expand vocabulary.
My main priority is adapting to suit each student's specific needs, rhythm, and learning style. This means that when preparing exercises, setting homework, or recommending extra materials, everything is very personalised.
Tutoring for French and Spanish at GCSE level or under.
Typical length of lesson: 1hr (but flexible)
General structure of classes:
• Pre- tutoring homework: generally sent by email and examined during lessons
• Tutoring: step by step analysis of any questions that the student might be struggling with, focusing on isolating and correcting problematic areas.
• Game focusing on theme or vocabulary
• Homework: given afterwards by email, after being adjusted to suit the student's needs.
