2) Work the problem step-by-step together assessing their understanding of the concept(s).
3) Allow them to independently work progressively more challenging sample problems to determine that they can fulfill answering answer the "essential question" and their "depth of knowledge".
4) Next teaching period or day assess previous day's lesson comprehension/retention then review/remediate as nessesarry.
