About Maksim
Hi, I'm Maksim, a friendly and approachable Year 13 student at The King's School, Grantham. Having successfully passed the 11+ myself, I understand the challenges that students can face when preparing for entrance exams and know how important confidence and the right approach can be.
I'm easy to get along with and aim to create a relaxed, positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I am confident in my ability to explain concepts clearly and, rather than simply giving students the answers, I encourage them to develop their own ways of thinking and problem-solving.
My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to build their confidence so they approach the 11+ feeling prepared and capable.

My approach to 11+ tutoring is focused on helping each student develop the confidence and problem-solving skills they need to tackle unfamiliar questions independently. Rather than simply showing students the answer, I encourage them to think through problems in their own way and help guide them towards effective methods and strategies.
Lessons typically last 2 hours, giving us enough time to work through questions, identify areas that need improvement and practise applying different techniques. I aim to make lessons engaging and tailored to the individual student's strengths and weaknesses.
I have previously tutored an 11+ student who achieved full marks in the Non-Verbal Reasoning section, giving me experience in helping students prepare for the style and difficulty of 11+ questions.
My lessons are aimed primarily at Year 5 and Year 6 pupils preparing for the 11+ entrance examinations. I can help with areas such as verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, mathematics, English and general exam technique.
