About Ollie
I started tutoring small groups of students at the age of 15, which is when I realised I had a knack for breaking down complex topics and explaining them to people.
For the next few years, I started my own tutoring business teaching GCSEs and A Levels to over 50 students.
After getting straight A*s at GCSE and A level, I went onto study 6 subjects at UCL, including Economics, Psychology, Maths, French and Geography. I graduated with a high 1st Class Honours and made it to the Dean’s List for exemplary academic achievement.
Whilst at university, I tutored dozens of students in multiple subjects, particularly Economics, Maths and Spanish, from 11+ all the way to undergraduate level.
After graduating, I qualified to become a Maths teacher in a secondary school in London, and in my second year of teaching, I was promoted to Deputy Head of Maths. Whilst teaching maths, I continued teaching Economics and Spanish online to dozens of students. I was awarded ‘Outstanding’ for the quality teaching for both of the years I was a maths teacher.
Overall, I’ve taught for over 3000 hours, be it in a classroom in front of 30 students, lecture theatre in front of 150 students, or online.

I’m a Guest Lecturer at UCL and qualified Maths Teacher (‘Outstanding’) with over 3,000 hours of teaching experience.
I’m pretty obsessed with helping students get top grades, even when they don’t believe they can.
I work with students to understand exactly how the mark scheme works, how to reverse engineer the exam and get the highest possible grade with the minimum effort. I include modern techniques proven by cognitive psychologists such as low-stakes quizzing, interleaving, mnemonics and spaced repetition, to ensure that students remember everything I teach them, without them having to endlessly write notes.
I rarely give students the answers; instead, I use the Socratic method to probe students’ understanding and help them figure out the answer.
I also send each of my students an interactive graphics tablet so that they can learn interactively online.
