I can tailor tutoring sessions to the needs of the students and can approach topics in a way that is accessible, but covers everything the students need to know. I can tailor the lessons to exam board specifications, in the case of GCSE or A-level students and can work on essay writing techniques and how to answer exam questions.
I am an archaeology student at Durham University, who has experience with working with secondary school children academically, by running a support club for year 7s at my school. I will always make sure my students achieve their full potential

I always strive to achieve my best when given any task and can be adaptable when it comes to problem solving. My bronze Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) award is evidence of this, as I was faced with many dilemmas, which I used my initiative to solve. Furthermore, my strong level of perseverance is also demonstrated by my DofE award, as I was faced with many trials throughout, yet I managed to complete the award. I also do online tuition in Religious Studies A-level, which has aided my time management, as I am balancing this alongside my degree. In addition to this, I am a highly motivated individual, which can be seen by my Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). I can work well independently, but also as a team and I am able to ensure co-operation and high standards of work. Furthermore, I am an effective time-manager and can cope well under stressful situations. I am also part of the Children Achieving Through Student Support (CATSS) Primary School Project at my university and I am a Unit Helper at the local Brownies unit. Both of these have helped me to gain the skills necessary when working with children. As a part of CATSS, I was required, alongside the other volunteers, to take the children on a three day residential.
• Team management skills, as demonstrated by my DofE award and volunteering projects
• Ability to work independently to a high degree, as seen by my EPQ.
• Analytical skills, which proved vital in the completion of my history A-level.
• Interpersonal and communicative skills, which is demonstrated by the running of the German club for year 7s at my secondary school, as well as the CATSS Primary School project.
• Co-operation, which can also be demonstrated by my DofE award.
• Organisation, as evidenced by the completion of my EPQ alongside my A-levels.

Perfect! Amirah is really patient with me which I appreciate because I always ask her to go over concepts with me a few times to make sure I fully understand. She's very helpful and makes sure I understand the topic we're doing before we carry onto the next one. We've been focusing on structuring and doing essay plans lately and I've learnt much more with her than I have my teachers, thank you Amirah!
Wafa is a very keen student who is able to recognise areas where she is struggling. She has really improved her ability to critique philosophical ideas and is open to new methods of learning. She also grasps key philosophical concepts if they are broken down into steps and has improved her exam technique.
I have been close friends with Amirah fit years and she has always astounded me with her passion for history; we spend hours on hours debating topics regarding ancient civilisations, religions and so on. But she isn’t just passionate, she knows her stuff and got an A in History at A Level. If you want to not just learn about history but also engage with it in memorable and fascinating conversation, I strongly recommend Amirah!
I went to school with Amirah and she was honestly one of the best people to ask for help. She worked consistently at the top of the class while always taking time to help others by giving constructive feedback and helping to break down complex ideas into more manageable parts. She helped so many of her fellow classmates achieve higher grades and understand higher level concepts. She's also kind and gentle in her tutoring approach, so you never feel pressured, and is also organised and full of extra knowledge to push you the extra mile. I would 100% recommend Amirah as a SuperProf!
Amirah is a very hardworking and dedicated student at the University of Durham. She is very conscientious and puts a lot of effort into everything she does, and so I am certain that she would make an excellent tutor! Amirah is very easy to talk to and get along with and I highly recommend her!
