About Sofia
My name is Sofia and I’m currently studying Biochemistry and Neuroscience at Keele! When I was doing my A levels, I discovered a real passion for both chemistry and biology which led me to continue pursuing them as a degree. I know that they can be difficult subjects, but my experience with tutoring means that I know just how to break it down into the simple stuff so it’s easy for you to understand. I achieved A grades in both biology and chemistry, so you can count on me to teach you all the tricks to solving an exam paper until you can do it with your eyes closed!

I have achieved an A in both Biology and Chemistry for A levels. I greatly enjoy Chemistry and was a subject ambassador for it at sixth form, where I was involved in tutoring year 11 students in-person. I have also had experience tutoring a year 9 student in Chemistry and Maths online during the summer. Between the two experiences, I can definitely say that tutoring online was a much better experience, so I would offer majority online classes.
From my experience I have learnt that no two students are the same. Different students require different techniques, and I am able to adjust my teaching style depending on their needs. I know how to make lessons engaging using videos, quizzes that I personally designed as well as more in-person activities such as getting students to use the whiteboard.
I would like to tutor GCSE students in mainly Chemistry, but I would be happy to take on some Biology students as well. The length of the lesson would be around an hour or 45 minutes.
