The three biggest lessons I've learned teaching are these
a) You sometimes have to give literal answers to questions but it's so important to let your students figure things out for themselves for learning
b) It is partially important to teach to pass whatever exam BUT...
c) It's equally important to ingrain an enthusiasm for the topic, so you have to find out what attracts them to the subject even if that's not on the curriculum.
I give lessons at all levels up to GCSE.
I am a recent University graduate, (1st Class Degree), my dissertation got 84%, which in University is a lot.
I have tutoring experience teaching English as well as Maths and guitar since I was 18. At my A-Levels, I got an A in English Lit and A* at GCSE.
I have practical experience in that I write all the time for online publications.
In July 2020, I obtained a First Class Honours Degree in Film Production from The University of Creative Arts, Farnham, (specialising in directing). I have excellent qualifications in A-Levels and GCSEs. I am currently looking to subsidise my living with tutoring work.
I’ve been tutoring for four years now in subjects like Maths, and English, as well as guitar & piano, with excellent feedback and results.
I ran the film society there, which won the ‘Society of the Year’ award. I wrote a 8000 word dissertation at University which received a high first, 84%. I make films frequently outside of set curriculum, including a film I directed and produced for £1k, which is currently nearing the end of the editing process. I am currently in the process of recording my first musical album for an independent label. This year I directed a grad film called ‘Dead Head’ and got a 1st on my dissertation. I am going to do a Master’s in Screenwriting at New Bucks Uni in 2021.
I write columns and reviews for A Fistful of Film. I also co-created the website as well as (concealed information)
