About Serena
My name is Serena Tricia Heerah, and I am a passionate teacher who enjoys helping students learn and grow. I have experience teaching a variety of grade levels and subjects, with a strong background in both English and French. I strive to create a classroom where every student feels welcomed, respected, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
I am a caring, patient, and hardworking person who enjoys building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues. My experiences in education and childcare have strengthened my communication, organization, and leadership skills while reinforcing my belief that every child can succeed with the right support.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and embracing my Mauritian heritage. I am currently preparing for one of the most exciting chapters of my life as I look forward to welcoming my first child. This journey has made me even more appreciative of the importance of kindness, compassion, and lifelong learning.
I believe in approaching life with dedication, optimism, and a willingness to continue learning. Whether in the classroom or in my personal life, I aim to make a positive difference in the lives of those around me.

As a teacher, I try my best to make my lessons fun and interactive. I do different activities to keep my students engaged.
I always start with a song or a story to activate students' learning, then to acquire their learning, I do some examples together with them to make sure they understand. Then to apply their learning, I usually give a worksheet so that they can try it on their own. That will also give me a chance to assess their learning.
As a tutor, I will help and encourage my students in every way possible but also be very patient with them.
The lessons will be for ages 5-8 years old but I am always willing to teach anyone who are willing to learn.
