As a teacher, I think it is important to first gage student's levels of understanding, and their preferred learning styles. I try to adapt my method of teaching to suit individual needs. In terms of lesson structure, I like to offer a mixture of lecture-style learning with discussion-based learning, and think that having a variety of activities in a session is a great way to keep students engaged.
I completed my PhD at the University of Leicester in 2018. My research focuses on contemporary Caribbean fiction. I have had the opportunity to work in secondary schools, wherein I created and taught a short course on postcolonial literature. I also have experience teaching at university level, and act as an A-level examiner.
I am incredibly passionate about learning, and helping students achieve their academic goals.
