About Youchi
I am originally from China and currently work as a Sound engineer, contributing to the production of large-scale concerts and live events. I lived in West Yorkshire for many years and spent most of my university life there, so it remains a place I am very fond of. I am also passionate about travelling and have visited most European countries. My experience of living and working in both China and the UK allows me to understand different cultures and communicate clearly with students from a wide range of backgrounds. As a Mandarin tutor, I aim to create a friendly, professional, and supportive learning environment in which students can build confidence and make steady progress.

Mandarin
I offer online Mandarin lessons tailored to each student’s level, goals, and interests. My lessons combine everyday conversation, pronunciation and tone practice, vocabulary, grammar, reading, and Chinese culture, with a strong focus on practical communication. Each lesson typically lasts 60 minutes, although this can be adjusted to suit individual needs. Having lived in China for 17 years and in the UK for 6 years, and as a University of Leeds graduate, I can clearly explain linguistic and cultural differences in both English and Chinese. My lessons are suitable for learners of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to those wishing to improve their speaking, reading, writing, or everyday
