I am a relaxed teacher. I've been doing this for quite some time and I don't think I am ever likely to stop. It's rewarding to watch you, the student, develop a new skill that you will be able to enjoy for a lifetime.

I tailor lessons to suit your needs. Whether you are playing for fun, or whether you are looking to work towards a career in music, I have a wide repertoire across each instrument. I have taught for 25 years and work in schools in the area. I teach primary age (youngest 6 years old right through to adults). I hold several grade 8 certificates, the most recent one being for double bass (but I don't offer lessons on that). I have a music degree from Goldsmiths College University of London and I have formed a local orchestra, J26 Sinfonietta. I start with 30 minute lessons for beginner pupils and suggest longer lessons for more advanced students as you progress.
