About Tom
I am a recent graduate of the University of Melbourne, majoring in philosophy and creative writing. I have always been keenly interested in the humanities subjects and have academically excelled in all things involving writing and speaking! In addition to tutoring, I am studying to become a Professional Life Coach and have an extensive background in personal development knowledge.
Teaching is an incredibly rewarding experience for me and I couldn't be more thrilled by the prospect of teaching students still in school. It feels like only yesterday when I was in your very same boat - I know what's its like and I want to make your schooling era 10x more fulfilling while it lasts. Although I didn't realise it at the time, my teachers, especially my favourite teachers, played a powerful role in cultivating the person I am today (for better or worse :P). It made me realise that an excellent teacher doesn't simply teach, they infuse their character with the teaching process to bring about a transformative effect on the student. Therefore, in addition to my sound grasp of the English language, I will strive to create an optimistic, flexible and encouraging learning environment.
