I'm Calum, a 24 year old recent French and Spanish graduate from the University of Southampton. I have travelled and studied extensively in Spain, including spending a year at the University of Alicante in South-East Spain. I'm fun, easy-going and relaxed while retaining an attention to deal that ensures that problem areas aren't missed in lessons.
I am firmly of the belief that languages are best learnt in an immersive environment that encourages confidence over self-doubt. My goal is to have the student thinking and speaking in the target language as much as possible, focusing initially on fluency over 100% accuracy. Through this immersion, grammatical rules and complex vocabulary become second nature and general comprehension increases.
However, I'm experienced in multiple different formats of classes and am able to tailor individual lessons to the student's needs and am happy to work through exam syllabuses and coursework together as well.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you!
I'm a recent graduate in French and Spanish from the University of Southampton, having spent a year in Alicante. I've also spent time studying in both Marseille in France and Seville and Ronda in Spain, as well as having travelled extensively throughout both countries. I've also helped design the language course and learning objectives at The Language Exchange, where I also operated as a Language Ambassador. I'm used to teaching all ages thanks to time spent teaching karate and am able to tailor lessons to individual needs of the student to ensure the sessions are as effective as possible.
