About Roy
Hello everyone! My name is Roy and I am a university student studying biomedical science/concurrent education at York University. I am Canadian born, but since Mandarin was my first language, I am fluent in both Mandarin and English. As a passionate Mandarin tutor dedicated to helping beginners embark on their language learning journey, I believe that anyone can learn a new language, as long as they work hard and believe in themselves. Hello! I love using google slides/powerpoint presentations to teach students, as the visual images appeal to young learners. A lesson plan will include an introduction to the lesson, reading the slides/information along with the student, giving the student time to practice, and provide feedback and ways to improve at the end. I am fluent in Mandarin and English, meaning if a student doesn't understand the material, I can still use English to explain to them. These lessons are for beginners who are trying to learn Mandarin as another language.
