About Charis
Hi! I am currently a university student in Glasgow who recently achieved a Distinction in ARSM performance diploma this past spring. I have been playing flute for 9 years and hope to expand my musical career into teaching.
I am passionate about playing in symphony orchestras, and am experienced with helping students perform well as a part of ensembles. I am super flexible, and we can discuss your expectations before we start. We can work towards graded exams or discover fun tunes together.
I love getting to know different people with different skills and attitudes towards music so that I can better help my students get the most out of their lessons. I am happy to travel to lessons!

My lessons are catered to beginners (Grades 1-5) and my aim is to be flexible to student expectations, but also to curate expertise and passion for music within my students. I am classically trained in flute and piano, and I can teach basic music theory to aid my students' understanding of the repertoire.
For students looking to improve on their playing, I focus on improving tone and increasing range of tone to discover my student's personal style. For students looking for an opportunity to relax and simply enjoy playing music, I will be there to listen to and guide your playing. I am also happy to teach complete beginners and walk through getting your first note out of your flute!
