My teaching method is to first ask the student what he/she is having difficulty with. I will analyse current subject specifications, introduce the student to the subject in a fresh way whilst also referring to how they have previously been taught the topic as to avoid confusion, and from here I will create "mock" exam style questions for the student to work through with my support and guidance. Since I am still in the education system myself, I am very much in tune with how today's exams and teaching styles have evolved and this allows me to give unique coaching and help students with the way in which studying for examinations today is most effective.
I am a student at the University of Liverpool and am looking to turn my passion for Maths into a career helping others advance in the subject with the right support and guidance. Travelling is a big passion of mine and I spend much of my summer and free time organising and attending live music events such as festivals and other gigs around the country.
Travel of more than 10km will incur an additional cost of £5 per hour.
I am currently studying MMath Mathematics at the University of Liverpool. I began studying here in September 2016 and will complete my studies in June 2020. As part of my first semester I am studying four modules including Calculus and Mathematical IT Skills; demonstrating my ability to think methodically and use a computer with extensive knowledge. I believe that not only does my Mathematical background suggest a natural ability to follow procedures well and consider a number of things at once, but also my passion for a challenge. In September 2014 I began study at Crosskeys College. I studied fours AS levels: Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Economics. I have now completed my studies at college and have obtained the following: A Level Mathematics at grade A, A Level Further Mathematics at grade A, A Level Physics at grade B and AS Level Economics at grade C. Alongside my A Levels, I also earned the following qualifications: Level 2 Key Skills in Working With Others and Level 3 Key Skills in Improving Own Learning and Performance, which I believe to highlight my capacity to reflect on my own performance and continuously strive for self-improvement. I began studying at Secondary School in September 2009. During my time as a student at Blackwood Comprehensive School I acquired ten GCSEs. I obtained eight A*s and two As in the Summer of 2014. I also achieved my Level 1 Dance Leader qualification, which verifies my ability to lead and work creatively as part of a team and also on my own accord.
I have worked as a waitress alongside my studies from July 2014 to September 2016 at The Rock, Blackwood. During my time as a waitress I have gained a variety of skills. For example, I have vastly improved upon my already existing communication skills by dealing with customers regularly and often having to deal with situations where customers are unsatisfied with their experience at the restaurant. During these times I have always ensured that a positive outcome is reached and that customers leave the restaurant satisfied and happy with their experience. Working as a waitress has also taught me patience and to do my share as part of a team and to help individuals who may need help under the pressure of a busy restaurant. I was often asked to greet customers as it was often noted that as an approachable individual, my strengths were welcoming people into the restaurant and presenting an immediate good impression. Throughout my time at The Rock I have always been on time and present when required. Working under my own initiative, I always ensured that the restaurant was kept to a very high standard of cleanliness and was presented well at all times. I thoroughly enjoyed working as part of a team, as this suited my bubbly and sociable personality, but also enjoyed attending to the finer details by ensuring the customer receives nothing short of the best possible service. I am flexible and make myself available for last minute shifts and working after hours if needed. Alongside gaining many valuable skills I have also acquired my Level Two Health and Hygiene award.
