My tutoring focuses on fostering a student's intrinsic motivation and building a strong conceptual understanding, rather than rote memorisation. My tutoring techniques are tailored to the individual student's learning style and needs. This includes active learning strategies like collaborative problem-solving and real-world application exercises. My teaching methodology is heavily influenced by constructivist principles, emphasising the student's active role in constructing their own knowledge. I believe in creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking risks. Lesson length typically ranges from 45 minutes to an hour, allowing sufficient time for focused instruction, practice and feedback. Shorter sessions may be appropriate for younger students or those with shorter attention spans, while longer sessions can be beneficial for more complex topics or advanced students. I adjust the lesson duration based on the student's needs and the material covered. My qualifications include a comprehensive understanding of my subjects from my undergraduate degree in English and French from the University of Warwick. I have consistently achieved positive results in helping students improve their academic performance and confidence. I also maintain a strong commitment to professional development, regularly updating my knowledge and skills to align with current educational best practices. My lessons are designed for students of all levels and ages, from primary, secondary, sixth form to undergraduate.
