About Matt
I taught math (and language arts) in Chicago for more than a decade and then decided to return to grad school to continue my own education. It was there that I discovered the world of ways math can be applied to everyday life. I have worked in economic development, investing and real estate development, all making use of my math background.
We can begin with the curriculum, make connections to the world around us and see the end goal as your skill grows!

Learning is like rock climbing, where you grow as you find security during your climb. If we discover you've lost your grip, we can back up the last place you felt secure and begin again.
After struggling through grade school and high school math, I made it my mission to become a math teacher and work with students who may feel the same frustration I did.
Math can be a story (like statistics) a logic problem or a puzzle. It can be really fun to learn the process and it is incredible to feel the success of mastering topic after topic as you grow!
