About Skye
With 6 years of teaching and professional music experience, I am a passionate violin tutor dedicated to helping students achieve technical mastery, musical expression, and self-confidence. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners learning foundational techniques to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.
One of the most meaningful milestones in my career has been guiding students from struggling with technique, posture, or stage confidence to confident performers capable of playing with skill, emotion, and musical interpretation.
My teaching emphasizes building strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also nurturing creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive performance.
I integrate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to provide students with a well-rounded understanding of music. Lessons are customized to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style, creating a patient, supportive, and inspiring environment where students are encouraged to explore, express themselves, and reach their full potential. Teaching violin allows me to cultivate confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love for music in every student.

I teach violin using a methodology built around motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to nurture technically proficient, expressive, and confident musicians. Lessons are personalized to the student’s abilities, goals, and learning style, combining structured technical exercises, creative projects, improvisation, and performance preparation.
Motivation is central to my approach. I work with students to define achievable goals, track their progress, and celebrate milestones. This fosters perseverance, resilience, and self-confidence while instilling a lifelong love of music. Students learn to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, transforming mistakes into learning experiences.
Communication ensures lessons are collaborative, interactive, and supportive. Students are encouraged to ask questions, share difficulties, and express ideas freely, fostering trust and engagement.
Creativity is integrated throughout every lesson. Through improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises, students discover their artistic voice and deepen their emotional connection to music. Integrity emphasizes disciplined, responsible practice, respect for learning, and consistent effort, cultivating habits that ensure long-term growth and excellence.
Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and introductory piano, providing students with a comprehensive musical foundation. This methodology ensures students develop technical skill, artistic expression, confidence, and a lifelong passion for music.
