About Jovie
I am a committed violin tutor with 13+ years of experience, having guided around 300 students including high school students, college learners, and adults, helping them grow in their musical journey. My teaching philosophy is based on consistency, clear guidance, and steady improvement, as I believe that regular practice and the right approach can bring great results.
I focus on building a strong foundation by teaching posture, bowing technique, finger positioning, and tone clarity. I also include exercises and songs that make lessons engaging and enjoyable. I guide students on how to practice effectively so they can improve outside of lessons as well.
One of my proud achievements is helping students perform with confidence and develop a strong interest in music. My goal is to create a supportive and motivating learning environment.

My violin teaching methodology combines clear communication, flexibility, and practical learning experiences. I adapt lessons to each student’s learning style, abilities, and goals, ensuring that technical and expressive skills are both developed.
I focus on posture, bowing technique, fingering, intonation, tone production, phrasing, and musical expression while fostering creativity and personal interpretation. I use real-life examples such as performing favorite songs, preparing for recitals, and connecting music to emotions to make lessons practical and engaging.
In addition, I teach music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, sight-reading, and basic piano skills to strengthen overall musicianship. My aim is to create a supportive, structured, and enjoyable learning environment where students gain confidence, improve steadily, and cultivate a lifelong love for music.
