About Heini

I am a veteran photographer with a lifetime of professional experience, from the age of large-format cameras to today’s digital era. As a former professor at St Martins School of Art, I have taught generations of students the full craft of photography — from mastering f‑stops and lighting to the art of composition and visual storytelling. Over the course of my career, I worked as a commercial photographer for major companies such as Canary Wharf, ICI, and BP, and was highly sought after for my specialist work documenting private art collections and rare ethnic artefacts for catalogues, exhibitions, and publications. This unique expertise has given me an unparalleled eye for precision, detail, and presentation. Now retired at 82, I offer my knowledge to students, enthusiasts, and aspiring professionals who want to deepen their technical skills and creative vision. Whether you wish to master the basics, refine advanced techniques, or receive guidance on portfolio development, I bring decades of insight to help you see and photograph the world with clarity and confidence.
