About Noora
During GCSEs, I tried and tested as many study methods as I could find, and narrowed down the options into a plan that worked for me and helped me to achieve 11 grade 9s. Experimenting with study techniques is essential to achieving the grades a student is aiming for, but it is often overwhelming and many students may not know where to start. As a tutor, I hope to give students the skills to think independently and organise their learning so that they can go into their exams with confidence. At A-Level, I learnt to change and adapt my study techniques to the more difficult and more extensive syllabus, and through this achieved A*A*AA. The challenges I faced with this step up in exam technique, recall, and knowledge application have prepared me well to teach others how to maximise their potential in a system that is often difficult to navigate. As a student of Veterinary Medicine at the Royal Veterinary College, I have a strong scientific background and I am therefore well equipped to teach the sciences to various levels and age groups.

My main focus in tutoring is that students understand the material first and foremost, so that they have a strong foundation of knowledge and are equipped to answer more challenging questions with confidence. In my lessons, I aim to identify weaker areas in this base of knowledge and reinforce them, using a variety of proven study techniques (such as spaced retrieval) that I used personally in my GCSEs. I tailor my lessons to each individual student, using different methods of rigorous study that suit different levels and styles of learning. My aim is to leave no gaps and perfect as much of the syllabus as possible according to the grades the students are aiming for, with realistic goals and a measured and consistent approach.
