In terms of art, I would approach teaching in a very open and discussion based style.
Art is about creating and having unique ideas and this comes with research and knowledge, which is something I would love to share with potential students. Discussing artists, eras, movements is also a big part of being able to produce art, and it's something i'd like to focus on.
To exercise this, as well as exchanging ideas, i'd set small practical task which would require research and therefore tackle both creativity and knowledge.
I'm a second year university student currently studying Video Game Art which consist of the making of characters, environments and props in games ( includes 3D modelling, textures, lighting etc...).
While this is a quite unique route, I have always been a traditional artist artist at heart, taking both graphics and fine art at a-level ( achieving A* and A ) alongside my 3 other subjects.
As an artist I love discussing and helping out other in putting their visions down on paper. I have gone back to my high school a few times to talk to students and help them out in their journey towards their exams, which was really beneficial for them.

Perfect! Miya is a wonderfully empathetic tutor. She really sparked my son’s enthusiasm for art in a big way. She has a lovely gentle manner and is very personable in her approach. Highly recommended!
