About Natalie

I studied violin as part of my music degree at Royal Holloway, University of London, where I received a BMus (Hons) 2:1. I also hold a DipABRSM on violin, as well as ABRSM Grade 8 with Distinction on piano.

Since completing my PGCE in 2013 at the UCL Institute of Education, I have built up extensive experience as a successful Head of Music in various inner-city London schools.

As well as playing violin with several orchestras, I am the co-author of The Symphony: from Mannheim to Mahler (Faber Music 2022) which aims to bridge the gap between pedagogical approaches in secondary school and university music departments.

About the lesson

Whether you're looking to do exams or simply play for pleasure, I will tailor lessons to suit your needs. Over the last 15 years I have developed strategies to engage learners straight away while ensuring note reading and music theory is embedded in the lessons from the very start.

My rates are:
1 hour - £30
45 mins - £25
30 mins - £20

Lessons take place at my house in Belsay. I hold a full DBS certificate.
