About Margaret
I am a violin tutor with 8 years of experience and a PhD in String Performance. I enjoy helping students build confidence through patient instruction and carefully planned lessons.
My teaching philosophy focuses on steady improvement, creativity, and individual learning goals. I support every learner in developing strong technical skills while enjoying the learning process.
Outside teaching, I enjoy performing chamber music, studying advanced violin techniques, and mentoring young string musicians. These experiences help me bring valuable performance knowledge and fresh ideas into every class.

My violin lessons help students build dependable playing skills through clear instruction and enjoyable practice. We study posture, bow technique, finger placement, rhythm, intonation, scales, tone production, string coordination, and expressive phrasing using structured exercises and engaging repertoire. Every lesson creates a positive environment for confident learning.
As students progress, we work on shifting, vibrato, sight reading, ensemble performance, recital preparation, ear training, musical interpretation, and productive practice routines. I provide thoughtful coaching that helps learners improve their technical ability while becoming expressive performers.
My goal is to help students become skilled violinists who enjoy performing with confidence and musical understanding. Every lesson develops artistic expression, technical precision, and lasting appreciation for violin music.
