About Lorna
Music theory and left hand agility are the pillars of my teaching after 12 years of performance. Often people assume that technical proficiency makes playing feel robotic or stiff. Developing skills like spiccato and staccato bowing or scales and arpeggios actually clears the path for true expression.
I have mentored many students through grade exam prep including ABRSM and Trinity boards. Beyond the rigours of orchestral playing and tone production, I always prioritise the simple joy of creating sound. Ear training remains a core part of my process for everyone.
