About Shanon
"Bowing technique and tone production occupy the core of my teaching philosophy while we work together in the studio. I find it fascinating how a small adjustment in the wrist can change the entire quality of a note.
Having earned an Artist Diploma in Vocal Studies at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, I apply the same structural rigour to the violin as I do to my vocal coaching. My 316 students often appreciate the balance between technical drills and artistic expression.
We spend time on scales and arpeggios to build a solid foundation. Vibrato and spiccato bowing are introduced once the basics feel secure. It is truly enjoyable to watch a student master a complex piece of classical repertoire through steady, careful practice."

"Stiff bowing often ruins a beautiful melody. Tension is a common enemy. I fix these physical blocks by emphasising efficient movement patterns derived from my classical training. My lessons focus on ear training and refining the nuance of your sound.
Eight point zero is the minimum level of focus I expect during our work. My teaching style relies on the deep technical background I developed at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. We will move through your challenges at a steady pace. You can expect a calm and supportive environment."
