About Matilda
I am a violin tutor with 6 years of experience and a Master of Music in String Performance. I enjoy helping students discover how consistent practice and encouraging support can transform both their playing and confidence.
My teaching style focuses on clear instruction, positive encouragement, and individual progress. I adapt every lesson to suit each learner while helping them build lasting musical skills at a comfortable pace.
Outside teaching, I enjoy performing with chamber groups, exploring folk violin traditions, and arranging music for strings. These experiences bring creativity and practical knowledge into every lesson.

My violin lessons help students build confidence by combining strong technique with enjoyable musical experiences. We practice bow distribution, finger accuracy, posture, rhythm, intonation, tone quality, scales, and smooth string crossings using easy-to-follow exercises and familiar melodies. Every lesson is designed to create steady improvement while keeping learning relaxed and enjoyable.
As students develop their skills, we explore expressive phrasing, vibrato, shifting, sight reading, ensemble playing, performance preparation, and effective home practice methods. I also introduce visualization and mindful practice techniques that help learners stay focused, reduce tension, and perform with greater confidence.
My goal is to help every student become a confident violinist who enjoys making music with skill and expression. Every lesson strengthens technique, musical understanding, and performance ability through patient guidance.
