About May
Hello! My name is May, a 16-year-old student who has been playing the violin since I was 8. I’m currently studying for my Grade 8 AMEB exam and have developed a deep passion for music over the years. As someone who has experienced the joys and challenges of learning the violin, I understand what it’s like to start from the basics and gradually build skill and confidence. My lessons are encouraging, patient, and tailored to each student’s needs, whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to improve your technique. I aim to make every lesson enjoyable and inspiring, helping students not only play the violin but also appreciate the beauty of music.

My violin lessons are designed to make learning fun, engaging, and rewarding for young students aged 4 to 12. I teach students from beginner through Grade 4 AMEB level.
Students will learn repertoire from the AMEB Violin Series grade books, along with technical work such as scales, bowing exercises, and posture improvement to develop good habits early on. Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace and learning style to keep them motivated and confident.
Lesson duration options include 30 minutes or 1 hour, depending on the student’s preference. My goal is to create a positive and supportive environment where students can enjoy music while steadily improving their skills.
