About Maxwell
"Years spent in regional chamber ensembles left me with the distinct smell of aged wood and rosin on my fingertips. After 13 years of performing, I transitioned into full-time instruction to pass on the technical inheritance of my Juilliard training. My method favors the structured elegance of Delay and Perlman.
Most of my students are looking for clear guidance on shifting positions or tuning by ear. I find that focusing on the minutiae of scales and arpeggios builds a necessary foundation for advanced bowing technique. We can also explore double stops and left hand agility together. "Admitting that technique is often an arduous pursuit is the first step toward true orchestral playing. I lean heavily on my Juilliard background to provide a clear roadmap for music theory and ear training.
You will find my approach quite methodical. We will work through 10 sessions to cover the fundamentals of classical repertoire while ensuring your posture is sound.
