About Kathy
I started on the violin originally and then in high school, switched to viola. I've played in several local churches, either 1st or 2nd violin, as well as viola. I started teaching privately about 13 years, at the request of someone who wanted to learn the violin. Eventually, I began working with a music studio and started creating tutorial videos for my students.

I use a variety of methods and techniques, all designed around the individual student's needs. Some techniques that I've used with beginner students include tab music, color coding, to traditional styles of learning, depending on the age and ability of the student.
Starting with late Elementary to Advanced levels, I incorporate learning how to create a story or picture of the music you create.
I will work with students 6 through adult. (I will consider 4 and 5 year old's, but a parent or sibling needs to be in with every lesson, until the child is able to work independently.)
I will teach online or in person.
